Phan will fight Leonard Garcia at UFC 136 in a rematch of their TUF 12 fight. Phan was absolutely robbed in the last fight as he landed far more strikes in the fight, losing a split decision.

MMA Judges Must Be Held Accountable
The two judges who gave Garcia the decision over Phan deserve an immediate suspension or firing from the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Anyone with a functioning set of eyes clearly saw that Nam Phan defeated Leonard Garcia at the TUF 12 Finale, winning all three rounds.
There have been plenty of controversial decisions throughout the history of MMA. Bisping's decision win over Hamill at UFC 75 was robbery. I had Shogun beating Machida in their first bout at UFC 104. Going back further, most people had Ricco Rodriguez beating Antonio Nogueira at Pride Elimination 2003 and Kevin Randleman defeating Bas Rutten at UFC 20.
However, the decision in Phan versus Garcia trumps them all as every round clearly belonged to Phan. The easiest round to score was the second, where Phan landed cleaner strikes, knocked down Garcia, and got the back. The third round seemed clear, as Phan landed cleaner strikes doing far more damage. Throughout all three rounds, Garcia never seemed to land clean strikes.
In addition, Garcia didn't do much in the last two minutes of the final two rounds. It just seems impossible that a person with the power of sight could score that bout for Garcia. Throwing a punch and it not landing should not score points. Running out of gas should not score points.
Quite simply, NSAC and other athletic commissions need to clean house and get rid of incompetent judges. Decisions that seem outrageous need to be reviewed and the judge making the decision needs to be held accountable. People with actual MMA training and/or fight experience who know what they are watching should be the ones judging fights.

TUF 12 Finale Preview
The 12th season of The Ultimate Fighter has delivered some very entertaining fights, nasty submissions and a couple big time KO's. The 28 contestants have been whittled down to the final two fighters, both from Team Georges St. Pierre.
The two hour final episode wrapped Wednesday night with two hard fought fights that ended in decisions. In the first fight, WEC veteran and the ever humble Jonathan Brookins used his dominant wrestling and ground and pound to get a victory over Kyle Watson.
Brookins has shown a quick power double leg and amazing lateral throw over course of season 12. Jonathan Brookins earned his way with a dominant decision over Ran Weathers, then two rear naked choke wins over Sako Chivitchyan and Sevak Magakian.

In the second bout, Michael Johnson barely squeezed out a split decision win over Team Koscheck's Nam Phan. The fight featured Phan getting the better of the stand-up exchanges, but Johnson getting the better of the grappling. Johnson showed tremendous heart, powering through devastating body shots in the second round.
To get to the final four, Michael Johnson relied heavily on his wrestling to win decisions over Pablo Garza and Bruce Leeroy while getting a rear naked choke win over Aaron Wilkinson.

TUF 12 - Elimination Round Complete!
The first episode of TUF 12 featured 28 fighters trying to make it into the house. There were some impressive performances from the lightweights, as many are fighting to make it in the UFC. The remaining fighters feature a mix of young upstarts and seasoned vets who have yet to make it to the biggest stage in MMA.
Coaches Georges St. Pierre and Josh Koscheck were seperated by Dana White for the action. Both coaches were scouting the fighters, as they will pick teams next week.
Here is a look at the 14 who made it to the 2nd round:
Cody McKenzie (11-0)- Team Fancy Pants member has 9 straight guillotine wins fighting in the Pacific Northwest. George St. Pierre correctly predicted a McKenzie victory via guillotine as he choked Amir Killah (6-4) unconscious and out of the competition.
Johnathan Brookins (11-3)- Bellator and WEC veteran has wins over Luis Palomino, Stephen Ledbetter, Yves Jabouin and TUF 5's Allen Berubie. Brookins won a dominating decision utilizing his grappling over Ran Weathers (13-7).
Sako Chivitchyan (5-0)- California based Armenian fighter has 3 submission wins. Sako utilized his judo to win a decision over Toby Grear (7-4-1), which was only shown in highlight fashion.
Marc Stevens (12-5)- Ring of Combat veteran is currently on a 4 fight win streak, has fought in 185, 170 and 155 divisions. Marc won his fight quickly, knocking out Iowa fighter T.J. O'Brien (14-3) with a nasty overhand right. Josh Koscheck was formerly an assistant wrestling coach for Mark in Buffalo.
Dane Sayers (7-1)- North Dakota based fighter has 6 first round wins. Sayers, a Cherokee Indian, was involved in the most draining fight of the first round against Ariel Sexton (6-2). The action was back and forth with Sayers, sporting a red mohawk, appearing to be dazed. In the second, he came back and won with a standing rear naked choke. Hopefully Dane gets a break before his next bout.
Spencer Paige (5-2)- The East Coast fighter (also listed at 7-2) doesn't have a recorded MMA fight since 2007, has 2 head kick wins on his resume. Spencer, an admitted stand-up based fighter, fought hard winning a unanimous decision over Steve Magdaleno (6-2).
Andy Main (4-1)- New Jersey based fighter trains with Dan and Jim Miller. Main's fight was shown in highlight fashion, ending in a triangle choke of undefeated Jason Brenton (3-0).
Jeff Lentz (5-1)- New Jersey based lightweight has 3 TKO's and 1 sub on his resume. Lentz laid a ground and pound assault on BJJ fighter Dan Head (6-2), leaving him a bloody and swollen mess.
Alex "Bruce Leeroy" Caceres (4-2)- Florida based fighter is a KOTC and G-Force vet with 2 TKO's and 2 Subs in his 4 wins. Caceres, coming out in his Bruce Lee tracksuit which was featured in Game of Death, laid a whooping on Paul Barrow (3-0). Caceres threw some high flying kicks, but then finished with a nifty rear naked choke.
Mike Johnson (9-4)- Missouri based Gracie Barra fighter. Mike used solid wrestling, big strength and nasty ground and pound to win a decision over Pablo Garza (7-0).
Aaron Wilkinson (6-3)- Fighter from the UK has 4 sub wins. With subtitles in tact, Wilkinson used solid grappling to defeat former Marine Mike Richman via decision.
Kyle Watson (12-6)- Watson (also listed as 15-6) trains out of Matt Hughes' Hit Gym, he currently has a 4 fight win streak, 10 of his wins have come via submission. The BJJ brown belt used his upper level submission skills to submit Joseph Duffy (7-0) in the eliminator.
Sevak Magakian (8-3)- The tall judo fighter has 7 submission wins in the 1st round. Sevak made it into the house with a somewhat surprising decision. While the judo fighter seemed to be in top control for the duration of the fight, his opponent, JJ Ambrose (12-2) nearly finished him with a kimura.
Nam Phan (15-7)- The popular California based fighter is a Strikeforce and Sengoku veteran, with TKO wins over Saad Awad, Hideki Kadowaki and Shad Smith. Nam earned his way into the house with a hard fought win over WEC veteran and former pro rollerblader Mike Budnick (9-4). Nam landed a devastating shot to the liver to drop Budnick.

TUF 12 Coaches and Contestants
On September 15, 2010, the 12th season of TUF will kick off pitting coaches Georges St. Pierre against TUF 1 veteran Josh Koscheck. The lid has been tight on rumors surrounding the show, as barely any names have been leaked.

The assistant coach names have all been leaked and are fairly predicatable. St. Pierre has tabbed his striking coach Phil Nurse, John Danaher, Jean-Charles Skarbowsky and Shawn Williams. Koscheck has an AKA heavy presence with Dave Camarillo, Bob Cook, Daniel Cormier and Javier Mendez.

Sengoku 8th Battle!
World Victory Road's "Sengoku 8th Battle" will take place this Saturday in Tokyo, Japan's National Yoyogi Stadium. The bouts will feature four second round 143 pound contests in the Sengoku featherweight grand prix. Have your DVR's ready, because the entire card will be shown live on HDNet.

Sengoku 7: Excitement
The last installment of Sengoku 7 delivered on many levels with exciting fights from beginning to end. The action in the featherweight tournament was fast and furious, with Nam Phan and Denis showing knockout power to slick Sandro and Hioki submission victories. Kim Mo again put on a show, busting a pearl white robe out of the closet.
Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal def Ryo Kawamura via unanimous dec- King Mo domining the action and defending his kingdom. Much like a repeat of the Lesnar v. Herring fight, King Mo got takedows at will dominating Ryo. In the first, Mo landed some slams, and throughout the fight, got Ryo's back throwing knees and punches. While Kawamura was able to last the entire fight, he took quite a bit of punishment, including devastating knees to the hamstrings.
Jim York def James Thompson via KO(punch) R1, 4:33- Both fighters stood and traded punches, but York got to Thompson first. A few punches rocked Thompson, who tried to get a double leg takedown. However, York would not allow a takedown, and near the end of the first round threw a nasty punch which sent Thompson to the canvas.
FW Tournament:
Hatsu Hioki def Chris Manuel via sub (arm bar) R1, 4:12- Hioki showed superior grappling skills as he outworked Manuel, eventually getting a beautifully executed armbar in the first round.
Nam Phan def Hideki Kadowaki via TKO (punch) R1, 3:09- Phan and Kadowaki threw as many punches as you could fit into 3 minutes in this fight. But Phan had the more accurate strikes, throwing a devastating right hand which leveled Kadowaki.

Michihiro Omigawa def LC Davis via unanimous dec- LC Davis looked like he was fighting without energy throughout the fight. Omigawa got takedowns at will and was able to land punches.
Marlon Sandro def Matt Jaggers via sub (standing head and arm choke) R2, 2:57- Sandro was able to take Jaggers down at will in the first, but Jaggers always managed to get up and out of trouble. However in the second, with Bas Rutten and Jaggers corner thinking Sandro was stalling, the two made it to the feet. However, Jaggers left an arm out and Sandro sunk in a deep, nasty head and arm choke. Jaggers was unconscious very quickly.

Masanori Kanehara def Jong Man Kim via unanimous dec- Kanehara won the fight with stining low kicks and controlling the action on the ground.
Chan Sung Jung def Shintaro Ishiwatari via sub (rear-naked choke) R1, 4:29- Jung came out throwing wild punches with Ishiwatari looking more conventional. However a looping punch found its mark and knocked Ishiwatri to the ground. From there, Jung pounced on his wobbled foe and finished the fight with a rear naked choke.
Ronnie Mann def Tetsuya Yamada via unanimous dec- This was an entertaining fight that featured kicks, knee bar attempts, takedowns, and sweeps. It was back and forth, and Yamada almost got an upkick KO. But Ronnie Mann pressed the action more and was closer to finishing the fight. Mann took the decision.

Nick Denis def Seiya Kawahara via TKO (strikes) R1, 2:36- Denis may have entered the fight an underdog, but with emotion on his side he brought some serious thunder. He connected on a head kick early, then punches, another kick, and followed Kawahara to the ground throwing hammerfists until Kawahara's corner threw in the towel.

WVR Sengoku 7th Battle!
The upcoming Sengoku 7th battle will be shown this Friday on HDNet. It will probably shown at an odd hour, so get your DVR's ready. Sengoku will have the opening round of its 143 pound featherweight grand prix along with two non-tournament bouts. All fighters made weight and are ready to go.
Ryo Kawamura vs. Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal- Mo Lawal is (3-0) in his brief MMA career fighting exclusively in Japan. His "King Mo" persona will be in full effect, as well as his superb wrestling and striking skills. Mo has TKO victories over Travis Wiuff, Fabio Silva and Yukiya Naito. Kawamura (9-3) is a solid fighter in his own right, while fighting primarily in Pancrase before coming to Sengoku. He will have his hands full with Mo.

James Thompson vs. Jim York- This is a fight between two big bruisers. Punches will be thrown, and one of these big boys will get knocked out. Thompson is coming off an odd NC in the ill fated Strikebox promotion, and a loss to Kimbo Slice. Jim York (9-2) was knocked out in his last fight, but prior to that had 9 straight wins including a win over UFC vet Brad Morris.

In what looked to be a somewhat packed house, Strikeforce put together a pretty good show. It was shown live on HDNet, and will probably be replayed a few more times.

Metcalf was able to use a body lock to takedown Daniels and punch him. In the second, he got the rear naked choke after getting in full mount.
Miesha Tate def. Elaina Maxwell via Dec (Unanimous)- I had Tate winning 2 rounds to 3. Decent fight.
Bobby Southworth def. Anthony Ruiz via Dec (Unanimous)- Bobby Southworth was able to defend the light heavyweight fight Anthony Ruiz. The fight was pretty slow as Southworth grounded out the unanimous decision.
Billy Evangelista def. Nam Phan via Dec (Split)- I actually gave this one to Nam Phan who scored more combinations and power punches. Evangelista won the first with takedowns and punches on the ground. I had Nam Phan winning the second and third due to the damage he was able to dish out. He had Evangelista stunned and almost KO'd at times. Either way, it was a close fight that had quite a bit of action.
Josh Thomson def. Gilbert Melendez via Dec (Unanimous)- The title bout of Melendez v. Thomson was surprisingly one sided. Thomson did all the damage and dominated the five round fight. Melendez looked somewhat sluggish, as he absorbed kick after kick. While he was able to land some punches in combination, it wasn't enough as Thomson took the unanimous decision and the Strikeforce Lightweight Belt.

Strikeforce Melendez v. Thomson
Tonight, HDNet will be airing Strikeforce: Meledez v. Thomson live. Melendez at (14-1) has been consistently ranked in the top ten at 155 for some time. He has big wins over Rumina Sato, Kawajiri, and Olaf Alonso. Thomson (14-2) is another star in the 155 division, with six straight victories. His big wins have come over Hermes Franca, Duane Ludwig and Nam Phan.
It will be interesting to see how Raymond Daniels fares. He was 18-0 in Chuck Norris' WCL. The WCL featured full contact kickboxing rules.
