UFC 146 - Heavyweight Blowout!

This Saturday, UFC 146 will take place in Las Vegas in the MGM Grand Arena.  The card features an all heavyweight main card with some serious power punchers stacking the card.  Headlining is the HW title fight between champion Junior Dos Santos and Frank Mir.

Originally Alistair Overeem was scheduled to fight champion Junior Dos Santos (14-1), but a random drug test by NSAC discovered elevated testosterone led to his dismissal from the card.  In stepped Frank "Bone Breaker" Mir (16-5).

Mir is coming off a dominant arm breaking submission victory over Antonio Nogueira. Expect Dos Santos to do everything in his power to keep the fight standing where he can utilize his devastating boxing.  Dos Santos has delivered 6 TKO wins in his 8 UFC wins, taking the title from Cain Velasquesz in his last bout.  The Brazilian slugger has also defeated Shane Carwin, Roy Nelson and Fabricio Werdum in the UFC.

Former UFC champ Frank Mir was getting tagged by Big Nog in his last bout before transitioning to the ground.  Once there, Mir cranked a kimura breaking the large Brazilian's humerus bone.
While Mir's stand-up has improved dramatically over the past few years, he needs to get the fight to the ground against Dos Santos to have a chance to win.  Mir's biggest wins have come over Brock Lesnar, Cro Cop and Tim Sylvia in the UFC.
